Summer 2025

Summers at First Christian Church are an invitation for all ages to engage faith in a hands on way. From Community Garden, to summer camps, to Vacation Bible School, to worship preaching series--there's a little something for everyone to engage God.

Explore Summer Opportunities

We have a variety of opportunities for each age to engage in their faith during the summer months. Take time to explore the different types of opportunities.

Vacation Bible School - July 7-10

Join us for a week of Vacation Bible School July 7-10, 10am - 1pm.  Kids ages 4 years old through 5th grade are welcome to attend. This year's Vacation Bible School theme is Victory! The Bible is filled with examples of God's people shouting and cheering in response to his mighty acts of power. Victory invites children to do the same by remembering who God is, what God has done, and what God promises to do!

This summer students who have completed 6th-12th grade are headed for a mission and service trip to Memphis, TN on May 26-30th. If your student is interested in attending, reach out to Pastor Kara or Pastor Zach!

Summer Camp

As part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we participate in the camping program at Camp KBY. Offering camps for a variety of ages and stages including older elementary school, middle school, and high school students, our summer camp experience provides students with a chance to build friendship and go deeper in their faith.

Community Garden

We have a large community garden located on the front of our property and visible from the street. All the food grown in the garden is donated to the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County. Community Garden volunteers work Tuesdays at 9am through the late spring and expand hours to several early mornings through out the week during summer. Whether you can give a few hours a summer or a morning a week, be a part of the impact our growing and feeding ministry has on families in Hopkins County.
