Stewardship

Stewardship
Pledges are one of the ways we plan a faithful budget and can make plans for how we will nurture faith and create an impact in the Madisonville community. You can make an estimate of giving pledge for the 2026 budget year at:
Deepen Your Understanding of Stewardship
What is the easiest way to make my estimate of giving?
Filling out the Estimate of Giving form online is the easiest way to make your pledge. Online Estimates of Giving are automatically tracked. Click the “Make a Pledge ” button on the stewardship section of the website and fill out the online pledge form with your name, email, annual pledge amount and click the “submit” button.
What is the purpose of a pledge? Can't I just make regular donations?
The staff and congregational board rely on pledges to plan the budget for next year. The budgeting process includes determining the ability to maintain, expand, or reduce current staff, programming, maintenance of the facilities, and expenses that allow our community to continue and thrive. While your regular donations and weekly cash offerings sustain the budget, your pledge helps create that plan. Consider your pledge a very important part of the planning cycle. Your pledge and financial gift directly helps First Christian Church in its overall health and well-being through both the annual budgeting process and fulfilling the financial needs of the church.
What time period does the pledge period represent?
The Stewardship campaign happens in the fall of the year prior to the active pledge year. Pledges made during the Stewardship campaign should reflect your anticipated giving for next calendar year. First Christian Church Madisonville's fiscal year coincides with the calendar year.
Where does all the money from my personal donation and the weekly offering?
The majority of our current budget pays our clergy, staff, and upkeep for facilities. While we are grateful for the many people who volunteer, we could not operate without the staff who devote so much of their lives to First Christian Church. Our staff ensure the continuity of programs that enrich the faith lives of our community. Our facility is not just a building used for one hour on Sunday morning, we host a pre-school program, Friends Place Respite Care for older adults, a community garden that grows food to provide families in Hopkins County with fresh produce and a robust midweek program for children and youth, as well as a rich musical education program for all ages.
We also make it a priority to support non-profit organizations in Hopkins County that serve our community through a grant process, we make additional gifts to local partners and we maintain a strong connection to our denominational and global ministry partners. In 2025 we supported community and global partners in three key areas:
